Grief on Monday, September 12, 2011

Aside from the normal remembrances of sacrifice, honor & appreciation for those who gave their lives in service to our country on 9/11/01, and in solemn remembrance of those families impacted by tragedy, which we pray for continually, our family had our own "little grief" this year.

We lost our first, sweet puppy, Sally on 9/12/11, after only getting her on 7/18/11 of this year.  Sally had a rare doggy disease which you can read more about here:  Dysautonomia

Instead of going on and on about how terrible her last days were, we thought we would remember her by the things we enjoyed about her.
Her feminine wagging backside,
Her curly wagging, happy tail
Her happy morning dance, or her happy dance ANYTIME a human approached her, she truly loved people!

Her very bright doggy brain, (at 13 weeks she could sit, lie down, fetch, stand up & walk on hind legs on command & had mastered getting past 2 baby gates on the stairs).

The time that she passed both gates at 6:15 a.m. without adult knowledge and jumped into bed with Ethan to lick him awake...

The time that Grandpa Larry was barking at her and she would "go crazy" running figure eights...

Even though we had her a short time, she provided a LOT of joy & fun to our daily lives.  We miss you Sally-no other dog could replace you, so we'll compare them to you forever more!
